| • Really beautiful sumptuous embroidery beaded velvet fabric in lovely soft fawn colour 15" in diameter with scallop edge of satin ribbon which is delicately embroidered using tiny clear sparkly beads & then inset a further 4 rows of beading and then this lavish elaborate design of 4 flower heads surrounded by leaves with the centre left showing the velvet - it weighs 354 grams which gives an idea how many beads have been used,it is also beautifully lined on the back with a woven lining fabric which is stitched under the ribbon at the edges,probably initially used as a dressing table mat it could equally well be used as the front of a cushion cover or seat cover front panel or it could be framed - overall in remarkably good condition,a small area of the outer border where the beads have come off but very little sign of missing beads elsewhere which is amazing at this is over 100 years old,in the centre of mat a slight pink hue to the velvet which may be a feint mark,fabric is crumpled... |
